Here is the official Press Release from Viz Media on Hunter X Hunter:

San Francisco, CA, April 14, 2016 – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), the largest publisher, distributor and licensor of manga and anime in North America, excites action/adventure fans as it announces the launch of the all new HUNTER X HUNTER anime series on Adult Swim’s Toonami.

The first episode of the action-packed, supernatural adventure series will premiere on Saturday, April 16 at 1:00 a.m. EST/PST, with future episodes to air each Saturday. Toonami is the anime programming block on Adult Swim, Turner’s network offering original and acquired animated and live-action series for young adults.

This latest anime property to join the VIZ Media catalog was produced in 2011 by the famed animation studio, MADHOUSE, and was broadcast in Japan on Nippon TV. The series reboots the popular HUNTER X HUNTER manga series created by Yoshihiro Togashi. For the North American debut, VIZ Media has assembled a fresh cast of talented voice actors that includes Erica Mendez as Gon Freecss, Cristina Vee as Killua Zoldyck, Matthew Mercer as Leorio, Keith Silverstein as Hisoka, and Erika Harlacher as Kurapika.

In the original HUNTER X HUNTER manga series, which is also published in print and digitally by VIZ Media (rated ‘T’ for Teens), Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts, and even other people. But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam. Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, amazing stores of information, and the right to call themselves Hunters.

In the HUNTER X HUNTER anime series, abundant riches, hidden treasures, fearsome monsters, and exotic creatures are scattered around the world… Gon departs on a journey to become a Pro Hunter who risks his life in search of the unknown. Along the way, he meets other applicants for the Hunter exam: Kurapika, Leorio, and Killua. Can Gon pass the rigorous challenges of the Hunter exam and become the best Hunter in the world!? His wild and epic journey is about to begin!!

“HUNTER X HUNTER is a fast-paced fantasy adventure beautifully animated by studio MADHOUSE and we are pleased to debut the series on Adult Swim’s Toonami with a first-ever English dub that adheres very closely to the storyline depicted in the original manga series,” says Charlene Ingram, Senior Marketing Manager, Animation. “We invite audiences to immerse themselves in this action-filled anime series and catch a new episode broadcast premiere each week!”

VIZ Media is the official North American distributor of the HUNTER X HUNTER anime series and holds the broadcast rights, digital streaming rights, home video rights and merchandising rights to the series.

First look: Plenty of new rides, games, Internet options and events for Kings Island in 2016

First look: Plenty of new rides, games, Internet options and events for Kings Island in 2016

MASON, Ohio — With just days to go until Kings Island opens its doors Saturday for another season, here’s a behind-the-scenes look as crews prepare to open. Daily operations start May 13.

QUIZ: TAKE OUR QUIZ to discover which Kings Island rollercoaster best fits your personality!

Construction continues on one of 2016’s biggest new features, the 65-foot tall Tropical Plunge. It will have six slides total, including three Aqua-Launch chambers where riders will wait for the floor to drop out from underneath their feet, sending them into a high-speed, almost vertical free fall, according to Kings Island.

It is the first new high-adrenaline attraction at Soak City Waterpark since Mondo Monsoon opened 12 years ago, said Kings Island spokesman Don Helbig, who added that it should attract those who aren’t traditional water ride fans.

“This is going to be something to appeal to thrill seekers,” Helbig said.

Tropical Plunge will open for Memorial Day weekend this year on May 28.

I-Team: How often is Kings Island inspected?

Kings Island guests this year will also see more changes to the dining experience that in the past has focused on fresher fare such as fruit and vegetable options. After a new season-long dining plan was introduced in 2015, this year three new refill stations are being built throughout the 364-acre park. Customers can purchase re-usable souvenir bottles starting at $10.99 a single day, plus $1 for refills during following visits, or $24.99 for unlimited free refills the whole season. They will now be able to refill their drinks at one of these stations without waiting in line at other food sale locations.

Unlimited refills is a new offer not available before, Helbig said.

“Food is really a core part of the guest experience,” he said. “It has actually changed some of the ways guests experience the park.”

Two inaugural festivals held last year will return in 2016. But this year, Banshee Brew Festival will be expanded from one weekend to two weekends in May and feature a larger selection of craft beer samples and selections. Close to 200 different beers could be available to choose from, Helbig said.

A food truck festival will be held again in June.

Festivals and other events give customers “a reason to want to come back,” Helbig said. “Instead of going to a restaurant on a Thursday night, they’ll come here to eat.”

Wireless Internet was quietly installed across the park last year, but this year, Kings Island expects to put more focus on connecting with visitors digitally.

Using an updated mobile application on their smart phone, park-goers can now check wait times and receive push notifications alerting them to special offers and park history.

Additionally, new in 2016 is FunPix, a way for guests to capture, collect and share professional quality photos of their day.

The Kings Island app automatically collects the guest’s FunPix photos, whether they have the Single Day Digital Photo Pass, or the entire season pass. They can download images to share with family and friends instantly from the mobile app for $29.99 a single day or $39.99 for the entire season, according to park operators.

“We’re looking for ways to enhance the guest experience,” Helbig said. “They want to capture those moments so they can remember their day whether it’s an on-ride experience or with characters.”

Other changes that might be noticed are additional parking tolls added to the entrance that, along with improvements made to Kings Island Drive by the city, should mean improved traffic flow to and from the entrance, Helbig said.

There will be 13 total toll lanes including lanes exclusively for passholders.

In the Rivertown area, a basketball shooting game has been relocated from near Reds Hall of Fame Grille to near The Beast entrance plaza.

At the new location, the basketball game will be next to a newly-added soccer challenge game.

In the Planet Snoopy children’s section, the Family Care Center and changing station has been expanded and remodeled.

The center provides parents and infants a safe, private, comfortable nursing and changing experience with storage areas for personal items and waiting areas for accompanying family members.

The inside offers restrooms, electrical outlets, charging stations, Internet services, televisions, refrigeration and ice, and hot water, according to Helbig.

The newest addition to the Columbus skyline will be named for one of the city’s favorite sons. The building at 111 N. Front St. will be called the Michael B. Coleman Governmental Center. The eight-story office building is scheduled for completion in December 2017. The accompanying seven-story parking garage will be completed in January 2018.

“Mayor Coleman’s contributions to the city cannot be quantified. The city was transformed during his 16 years of service,” said Mayor Andrew J. Ginther. “It seems only fitting that a building that will help to transform city government offices be named after him.”

Coleman was responsible for the formation of the Columbus Downtown Development Corporation, Early Start Columbus, Neighborhood Pride, Summer Safety Initiative and many more programs. In addition, he formed the Affordable Housing Trust and repurposed the Northland Mall complex.

Coleman says he is thrilled and humbled by the honor. “I always dreamed of Columbus having a Downtown campus of city government buildings,” he said. “Not only is that vision becoming a reality, but it will bear my name. I simply do not have the words to express my gratitude.

“I loved my time as mayor and am excited to see the direction Mayor Ginther is taking our city.”

The new building will house Building and Zoning, Public Service, Development and some Public Utility offices, creating a “one-stop shop” for contractors. With its contemporary design and lighting by Schooley Caldwell & Associates, the Michael B. Coleman Center will complete a suite of office buildings to house city government.

Dark Thriller “Girls” Reveals Movie Poster and Release Date

Live-action film based on 2009 novel by Kanae Minato hits Japanese theaters in October of 2016

The official movie poster and release date have been revealed for Girls, a psychological thriller about a pair of high school girls who become obsessed with the idea of witnessing the moment of another person’s death.

The film, which is directed by Yukiko Mishima and stars Tsubasa Honda and Mizuki Yamamoto, will hit Japanese theaters on October 08, 2016. The official movie poster depicts Honda and Yamamoto surrounded by flowers, which is reminiscent of a common Japanese funeral practice.

In Girls, Yuki (Honda) and Atsuko (Yamamoto) are a pair of high school students who spend their summer vacation volunteering at a high risk pediatric ward and a nursing home, although their motivations are more sinister than altruistic.

Girls is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Kanae Minato. The tagline for the Girls live-action is: “I want to see it. A person’s death-bed.”
