Beaver — The Eastern Eagles ran over the Green Bobcats 45-0 on Friday.
The Eagles wanted to establish a run game first. An early turnover from the Bobcats set up Eastern with a short field. Clay Martin then established that early rushing attack for Eastern, taking a 13 yard rush in for a score just over a minute into play.
Later in the quarter, The Eagles capitalized on the benefits of the rushing attack they had been looking for. With the defense stacked in the box to stop a run, Clay Martin threw outside to Owen Strong for a 46 yard strike.
Momentum seemed to go fully towards the Eastern sideline when Green fumbled the next kickoff and junior running back Robby Warnock took the next play to the house for a 33 yard blow for 6.
Dalton Tomlinson had two rushing touchdowns of his own for the Eagles, both coming in the second quarter.
The Eastern defense held Green in check. They met the backs of the Bobcats at the line of scrimmage. Even though quarterback Alex Hughes went 5-6 on passing attempts, he only went for 39 yards as the Eagles forced passes underneath all night.
Clay Martin finished the night 4-for-4 with 148 yards and one touchdown passing, and added his own rushing touchdown. Robby Warnock ran for 98 yards on six attempts and two touchdowns, and Dalton Tomlinson punch in his own pair of touchdowns, on two attempts for a whopping 6 yards total.
For Green, Tyler Darnell was a workhorse, rushing 12 times. He was given nowhere to go however and finished with 38 yards total.
