An Announcement We Never Thought We’d Make…

Dear Matsuricon Attendees,

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the cancellation of Matsuricon 2020. This decision comes after much consideration and conversation between the Board of Directors and our event space. We all believe that, with the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, cancellation is best decision for the safety of our staff and attendees.

We know this comes as another in a long line of disappointing announcements. However, we will be back, August 20th-22nd 2021. All registrations for this year will roll over automatically. We appreciate your continuing support for our convention, however, we are temporarily changing our refund policy for who are in need. Please apply using the following form before June 26th (4 weeks after this announcement).

For individuals who have reservations within our hotel block, your reservation will be dropped effective immediately after this post. Unfortunately, at this time, the hotels are not able to carry over any reservation. We will keep you all updated on when 2021 hotel blocks will open again. If you reserved your hotel room outside our room block, please call your hotel directly.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire Matsuricon staff, we want to extend our most heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you, for your support and patience. We are all disappointed that 2020 hasn’t been the year we wanted it to be, however, we are excited to look toward the future and make 2021 the best year yet! Please everyone stay healthy and stay safe. We will see you in 2021.
